This song was written to honor Violet Lankford, who was one of my dearest friends and the manager of South Loomis Quickstep Band. Violet was one of the most gracious people I have ever encountered. She and her husband, Gilbert, epitomized class and elegance, and it was a pleasure to have known and shared a moment of my life with them.

Keith Little eloquently stated in his “Remembering Violet Lankford” that “She had the mind of a philosopher, the heart of a child and will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. Happy Trails, Violet”.
